I made this Ham for Easter. I used the slow cooker instead of the oven. The blazon of ham was a fully cooked Spiral Ham and cooked 4 to 5 hours on low. This ham was moist and a wonderful flavor. My husband loves eating the left overs from the refrigerator. I will make this receipt again, and again.

To heyjude615, I bought a bottle of Welch's grape juice and used a cup of that. Fabricated this for Easter dinner and it was delicious. Best ham I've had in a long time. Earlier making information technology I though maybe the chocolate-brown sugar, cola, pineapple juice, and grape juice would end upwardly making the ham too sweet. I couldn't have been more than incorrect. The sweetness complimented the saltiness of the ham perfectly. I'll definitely exist making this again in the future. Thanks for the cracking recipe.
02/xiii/2009
My dh's grandmother made her ham very similiar and since I couldn't detect her recipe I used this i. It came out only as good, cartel I say mayhap meliorate?! And so moist, flavorful...my picky kids loved it. Even my sil who doesn't like ham loved it.
04/25/2011
The merely ingredients I had on manus were cola, chocolate-brown sugar and pineapple. So here is my version. Marinate ham(8lbs) in cola overnite in oven bag but do not poke holes in handbag until ready to bake. Plough bag a few times throughout the process to insure "even-ness". Drain cola and add pineapple with juice and rub ham with brown carbohydrate. I merely added 1/ii the saccharide. The cola is used to tenderize the ham and Boy did information technology!!!Delicious!!! This was the best Easter ham ever....
11/12/2011
Only had this this evening for your dinner club. Got rave reviews. I used the slow cooker method, cooked a 6.5 lb precooked boneless ham for iv.five hrs. I skipped the pineapple. I thickened the sauce with a cornstarch slurry and it gave the sauce a niggling more than body. I was very happy with the consequence. My guests could not believe the sauce was Coke and grape juice. After I put the dark-brown carbohydrate on the ham I wrapped information technology in plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator for almost an hr. It seem to make the sugar "stay on the ham" longer.
01/26/2009
This recipe is swell. I served for Christmas this past year and everyone loved it. A calendar week after my sister-in-law asked for the recipe. She couldn't stop thinking about information technology!
02/03/2011
Nosotros used a pit ham besides as a butt ham with this recipe. I accept to say the pit ham was very corrupt and succulent! The butt ham was ok but that was non considering of this topping, it was because a butt ham is definitely non as good as a pit ham! Made this for Christmas and EVERYONE loved it and said information technology was the best ham they had ever had. If you concentrate on the flavors you will probably gustation the grape juice but if y'all gustation it without that in mind, the flavors meld very well and make this ham well worth the effort. I made this in my Nesco at the same temp as the recipe states for the oven. It was washed in about an 60 minutes, maybe an 60 minutes and a one-half. Volition definitely brand again!
04/12/2010
We thought this was ok. I felt similar I could taste the odd flavors of the grape juice and coke. It really didn't do anything in terms of tenderizing my Cumberland Gap boneless ham, in fact the skin became a tough chewy rind. Would bake another boneless hame just not necessarily this philharmonic. I did similar the thought of serving a sauce alongside ham though.
12/31/2010
My kickoff fourth dimension blistering a ham for a tough oversupply. It was a hit! before cooking, I scored the ham and added cloves. I used pomegranate instead of grape juice.
04/27/2011
This ham got rave reviews from anybody! Made this for our Easter dinner. I didn't baste it every twenty minutes as nosotros were at church most of the time it was cooking, and it still came out fantastic! Volition for certain make information technology again!
04/01/2013
I made this ham for Easter dinner and it was fantastic! I used an 8 lb spiral sliced smoked ham that already had a chocolate-brown sugar coat on it (so I skipped the brown sugar step in this recipe). I poured the cola and grape juice around the meat and cooked on depression for 4 hours in my boring cooker. The finish upshot was moist, succulent ham that nosotros will brand again for sure.
06/18/2012
Actually an awesome recipe - I used a os-in, spiral-sliced ham, and did not broil the pineapple slices w/information technology. Otherwise, followed the recipe exactly...it turned out perfectly. Very moist, flavorful...the kids loved how the sweet sense of taste countered the ham'south salty taste. Will probably only make ham like this in the future. Threw out the flavoring packet that came with the ham and glad I did!!!
04/26/2010
I fabricated this on easter this yr a little weary of it but decided to go with information technology anyway. This was the get-go ham I had ever fabricated and I was a chip nervous when my family took the first seize with teeth. It was so good, and so moist it has to be the best ham I have ever eaten!! Best role is I made It lol. Thank you for sharing this succulent recipe.
04/12/2009
YES! Yep! Yep! This is my aunt'southward Easter Ham recipe that I have long been trying to leave of her, just she wouldn't tell the hugger-mugger ingredients!! I'thousand 47 and always loved this..we put in raisins and OJ or Pineapple juice likewise as more than kick and information technology comes out very skillful..thanks once again for the fab recipe..
04/26/2011
I made this for Easter this year and Anybody loved it. It came out then tender and juicy. Even my mother loved it and wanted the recipe. It was surprising considering she frown at what the recipe chosen for. I will make this a tradition for every Easter from at present on.
04/18/2014
I have establish that using 'Dr. Pepper' and eliminating the grape juice makes a much more circuitous flavor to the ham due to the spices in the soda. Notation; Use ONLY Dr. Pepper, other like soda's don't work.
04/03/2010
I fabricated my ham this way for Easter. It came out skilful merely zilch spectacular. Information technology but tasted like ham in one case you got down into it. I baked this in my electric roaster. I commonly melt my ham in a convection oven, information technology ever comes out simply as moist in there every bit it did with this recipe. This ham works great if you don't have the convection oven and are only blistering information technology in the regular oven!
12/27/2009
I just made this for a Christmas party. The reviews were good. I did not have any grape juice in the house so I substituted grape soda popular. I had to get out for a while, and so the sauce did non go added until about half of the done cookng. The juice was on the runny side and did not thicken much. When the ham was done cooking, I sliced it and placed in a cake pan and poured the sauce over the ham. Placed the whole pineapple rings on the ham, sprinkled with brown sugar and returned to the oven for the sugar to set. Anybody commented on how groovy it looked and tasted. Next time I will go the sauce in earlier or maybe reduce information technology on the stove a footling to thicken it upward like a coat. Corking recipe!
04/06/2010
Very nice ham. My husband like it, which is good. I will use this once more I am sure.
04/x/2010
This was i swell Ham. I cut off the bottom of the ham and placed it in a blistering dish. I cut diagonal patterns all over the ham. Did not based every 20 min and was still very juicy. This ham is for those that enjoy sweeter things. Definetly volition be my new special occasion Ham THANKS AMANDA :)
04/xv/2012
I have got to requite this ham a 5 star rating! It was absolutely the best ham I accept ever cooked or eaten this will be a family recipe for here on out... :)
04/13/2009
Our family totally savour this. The ham was so juicy & flavorful. This will exist the style we have ham from now on.
04/08/2012
This ham was a big hit for my Easter dinner. It was the start fourth dimension I've always broiled a ham and I was very pleased. My guests enjoyed it likewise. The brown carbohydrate and Coke really made for a nice sort-of jerky layer on the outside that I'chiliad even so snacking on hours after dinner. Yum!
08/24/2009
My family said best ham I ever made! Cheers! I am going to effort information technology with ruby coke for kicks next time....as we like to garnish with cherries...wish me luck!
04/17/2014
I cook my ham virtually like this every fourth dimension. I ever get a bone in ham. Lay pineapple slices across the top put in cloves and simply sprinkle on a little brownish sugar and so cascade a tin can of Coke over it, cover with foal and bake as directed depending on how big I get. Everyone always raves on how expert it is. My father in constabulary and I have high blood carbohydrate and I was told the carbonation of the soda pulls out the common salt and leaves the gustation. seven up or ginger ale also works. I similar cola the best.
04/12/2009
This was really proficient! I changed a lilliputian bit - I used orange juice since I didn't have any grape juice, and I added a bit of Penzey's Baking Spice to the top of the ham for a bit of kick. When the ham came out of the juices, I put the pan on the burners, let it boil, then added some cornstarch and water to thicken information technology into a gravy. It tasted delicious and will be my go-to recipe!
04/09/2012
Best Ham E'er!! Crawly for the grill as well!! Tin't wait for next Easter!!
04/05/2010
this is the best ham I ever fabricated. So juicy and tender. I used sprial ham and used the parcel of spices that came with it and spread it across the peak, I followed the residual of the directions exactly.
04/18/2009
Excellent! We made our ham this way for our Easter repast. The ham came out moist and yummy. I used a spiral cut ham which worked nicely. My hubby loved it. He has never been a big fan for tradtional hams made with cloves and spices. This is a great replacement recipe for any traditional ham recpies that use lots of spices, specially for people who are sensitive to them. Highly recommended.
04/17/2014
I have made my ham this way for several years for i holiday or another. I've used all unlike types of hams. The recipe I originally used was titled Aunt Naomi's easter ham. Information technology is fantastic! I don't use the grape juice and don't ever use pineapple juice if I don't have information technology...even with only the brownish sugar and cola it turns out great!
04/12/2009
Woah! This recipe was incredible! I fabricated it with a spiral sliced ham, and we all wanted to have bigger tummies so that we could accept piece after slice of this succulent and moist ham!
05/07/2009
this was a peachy large hitting this easter. We usually aren't big on easter but my husband is in the Air Forcefulness and many of his friends don't to exist with family and then I usually melt for the guys and they all loved this ham, I didn't make whatever changes except add together a petty bit of garlic because nosotros love garlic on pretty much annihilation and it helped go along the ham tender.
04/21/2014
Get-go of all... DON'T TELL ANYONE WHAT THIS RECIPE CONSISTS OF BEFORE THEY DEVOUR IT. Secondly, I was lazy and threw it in the crock pot and went for an internal temp of 160. If you do information technology that mode, the "sauce" is thin rather than saucy. Just... I was too lazy to practise it in the oven. In the oven, I'thou sure the sauce would have looked more like sauce. Bottom line, the entire family went NUTS over the ham, and in that location were no leftovers for me the next twenty-four hour period. I SWEAR to God. IS There NO JUSTICE IN THE Globe TODAY??? And after I told them the recipe, they said, "You lot're kidding me." LOL. Sometimes it'southward fun feeding these animals! LOL. Peace and Love, Happy Easter, Dante
04/14/2009
was ok. In my opinion non worth all the basting hassle.
04/18/2014
I am a few months shy of 50 years one-time and have been making ham this fashion since I was in 4-H at ten years old. After scoring the ham, I stud the crosses with cloves. I have never used the grape juice though, I always used some wine in its place, whatever kind except sherry which has likewise distinct of a falvor. I had my starting time dinner party at age 18 and used Concord Grape Wine and it made the gravy lavander colored! I would think the grape juice would do the aforementioned. Any soda works here, root beer is good and whatsoever ginger ale or white soda also.
11/21/2013
I always try out recipes before serving them at Holiday diners and I went ahead and took Brownie1's advice and marinated the ham in coke in an oven pocketbook overnight turning it so it would tenderize evenly and i did use the grape, pineapple and even the one can of coke to cook it. It came out tender and was absolutely amazing. I poured the pineapple juice over it and the sugar coated well. Definitely will be serving on Thanksgiving!!!
04/thirteen/2009
Everybody loved it!
04/xviii/2014
I have used this reciepe with orangish juice instead grape juice. You lot can too utilise ginger ale instead of cola. I commonly use ginger ale as oppose to cola. Itdoes give the hame a melt flavor and I institute that the ham isn't salty.
04/xx/2014
AHHHHHH-MAZING!!!!! I just fabricated this today for Easter dinner. Anybody raved about it! My mom said it was the best ham she ever tasted! When I read the recipe I said "oh homo, this sounds similar it will be Manner besides sweet!"...But it really wasn't at all! Absolutely DELISH! I made it exactly the way the recipe says....I used a spiral ham. Loved it! Give thanks you!!!!
06/04/2009
Practiced. I leave out the grape juice and stud the ham with cloves after scoring in a diamond pattern
04/13/2014
If you don't want to apply cola you lot can utilize ginger ale. Slap-up recipe, thank you for sharing.
04/17/2017
this was my first attempt at ham, and this recipe helped me knock it out of the park. Information technology was very flavorful, my husband kept telling me how delicious it was. the only modest change was, I needed to add together more than liquid (water) to the pan for the basting function, merely other than that it was like shooting fish in a barrel. I will absolutely brand this again.
11/18/2014
Made the ham today simply for fun, it was delicious, my mom now wants it for Christmas. This is really the first time I baked a ham. It is and so good, will probably do information technology once more earlier Christmas. ;)
05/01/2014
Extremely succulent!! After reading the ingredients I wasn't certain of the outcome. I was so surprised at how scrumptious this ham turned out!! Even people that unremarkably don't treat ham had seconds and thirds and wanted more to take habitation! What a compliment!
05/xiii/2014
The highlight of our Easter dinner.. Wouldn't change a thing.
04/21/2014
This is the offset fourth dimension I have always tasted a ham that did Not taste like ham... Information technology had a very strange taste and left a very bad after taste too. We double checked the recipe and we did cook it correctly.
04/27/2014
I fabricated this ham on Easter and information technology was THE best ham we have ever had! I followed the recipe exactly except I bought a semi-boneless ham. It came out tender, moist and but delicious. My husband, who doesn't really care for ham, ate several servings. Will definitely utilise this recipe again.
04/19/2014
'The best ham e'er! ' - Quoted at least five times by family unit member !
04/23/2014
yes, I loved this..made for Easter. Everyone enjoyed besides
07/26/2014
Fabricated this for Easter in the slow cooker, everyone loved information technology. Information technology'south a regular Sunday dinner now.
04/20/2014
Yikes! I tried this recipe yesterday and the mixture turned out to fire very easily. I concluded upward with a black ham, and almost none of the many ingredients affected the season. Side by side time I'll try something simpler. I believe the many ingredients were unnecessary. Judy
04/21/2014
Peachy recipe. Used it for Easter ham prepared past dad and this was awesome. I substituted Dr. Pepper for the cola and that really gave it a neat sweetness taste. THANK YOU!
04/04/2013
I was worried that the ham would be dry since I didn't drip (at church), but it was very moist.
04/20/2014
Used this recipe for our Easter lunch today. Delicious! I used a spiral cut ham which had a sugar glaze so I did not put the additional sugar on the ham. I besides cooked the ham in my crock pot on low for about 4 hrs. I think the cola and grape juice helped with the salt that you would normally have with a ham. This is my go to ham recipe from now on.
05/16/2014
It was amazing!! I will always do this when I am having ham. My hubby was a little skeptical, but when he tasted information technology, he agreed!
04/18/2014
Been using it for years. The wine version is less sugariness, but a fantastic season. Coke has been used for many years to tenderize meats of different varieties.
eleven/xvi/2014
Splendid...just practice not overcook
04/21/2014
My Easter dinner was moved upwardly several hours on short notice this year, and so while I had planned to follow this recipe, I had to "bustle it up." I increased the temperature, decreased the cooking time, used white wine instead of juice (idea we had apple juice at least but couldn't observe it), and skipped the pineapple. I did add together ground cloves and ginger to the lovely sauce, meant to add mustard as well but forgot. Altogether totally delicious though!!
04/29/2014
This is i of the best ham recipes I've made. I made if for Easter and the whole family loved it. From other reviews - I decided to identify my ham in a turkey bag (left from Thanksgiving) and marinate it in cola overnight. I too used a bone-in ham.
04/18/2014
Like some others suggested, I studded the ham with cloves. Wasn't too sure about purple grape juice, so I used white grape. As well used Mexican Coke, the kind that comes in a glass bottle (contains no high fructose corn syrup, existent carbohydrate instead) too used well-nigh 1 one/2 cups dark brown sugar. Yum!
04/20/2014
Made this Easter Sunday 2014. Delicious.
04/21/2014
I made this for Easter dinner and the whole family couldn't get enough of it. Everyone had seconds! This will exist an Easter staple from now on. I followed the recipe except for two things. ane. Equally some other reviewer suggested, I marinated the ham in the cola overnight. 2. I baked the ham between 325-350 degrees in my Komado style BBQ. The ham fell off the bone and was as sweet and juicy has can exist. Great recipe and I'chiliad looking forward to my ham sandwich for dejeuner today.
04/27/2014
I made this this night for dinner. I followed the recipe to a T and in was succulent, moist and juicy!!!! I'll definitely brand information technology again!!!!!
04/18/2014
Have washed a ham for several yrs , all I do is add a can of coke, melt dull on low heat 300degrees, for several hrs. Ham will cook in your mouth! If you lot do not similar your ham to fall apart then don't use this recipe! The trick to a skilful ham is the brand of ham you utilise. The simply ham I ever use is a boneless Superior Ham ! I sometimes have to become equally far equally some other boondocks to discover ane, just it makes all the difference! They commonly run well-nigh 12 to 20 pounds each, simply you can always have information technology cut in two pieces and freeze half for another day. tmangirl
04/21/2014
It came out so dainty and juicy and seemed similar alot of the salt gustatory modality that unremarkably comes in a smoked ham was gone. Was a huge hit with my family volition definately brand this once more
04/18/2014
Excellent! I subbed ginger ale for the coke since I don't like colas and information technology was superb! Great recipe! Thanks!!
04/17/2014
I call up it would be better with Vernors ginger ale and no grape juice. And reduce the brown sugar to one loving cup or use honey. Also in crock pot for 4-5 hours.
04/22/2014
This was a hit at Easter! Moist and delicious. Even left overs tasted keen. Next time I volition attempt in the slow cooker.
04/xx/2014
I made this for Easter and information technology turned out great. I followed the directions to the tee and my family unit loved it! Information technology was very easy to make!
04/20/2014
Awsome made this for Easter information technology was wonderful !!
08/18/2014
A big hit!
04/xx/2014
This recipe was surprisingly skilful. I have to say, I was not sure about the grape juice, just the sauce was delicious! And it was pretty piece of cake to make. I used a 9 pound fully cooked spiral ham, baked it at 325 degrees for 30 mins. to melt the brown carbohydrate, and so lowered the temp to 275 as suggested on the ham label and baked and basted for 2 hours. Everyone loved it! Volition definitely be doing this over again!
04/xix/2014
Piece of cake, reliable and delicious! Smashing recipe.
04/26/2014
Very tasty simply ended up with more of a sauce than a coat. Would make once again.
04/21/2014
This was the most tenderest ham we have ever had. I followed the recipe exactly with no changes. Information technology was a favorite this twelvemonth on the Easter Table.
11/07/2014
Crawly
04/21/2014
Tried this recipe for a family Easter dinner. Didn't go over as big as I had hoped. The ham was actually crispy and stale out even though I basted it every 20 minutes. Won't use this recipe again.
04/20/2014
Fabricated this for Easter and it was a huge hitting. I ended up with about a 4lb ham in society to fit it into my smaller deadening cooker (3.5 qt) and then halved all the other ingredients. Served it with bootleg scalloped potatoes which I expected to be the hit and that was a mistake, I should take made more of the ham! I scored the ham and packed information technology with brown carbohydrate the dark before then cooked it on depression for ii hours before adding the sauce ingredients and cooking for some other 3 hours. My family has already requested that I make information technology once more (and again).
04/21/2014
I made this for Easter and it was a HUGE hit with the adults and kids. I made it with a v lb. pre-cooked ham and merely cut the cooking time (post-brown saccharide) by 40 minutes. My picky daughter who NEVER eats ham happily ate it, so I will call information technology a winner. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I could not pick out the cola or grape juice tastes. I used Welch's white grape juice, which I idea might accept a less obvious flavor, every bit a precaution.
04/22/2014
It was ok.
04/06/2018
I was hoping to use my slow cooker for the recipe only my Crockpot was as well minor! I used the oven and it came out fine. The flavor was not overpowering, which was expert; everyone liked it. I call up I was expecting it to exist sweeter. The one thing I tried was to make a glaze with the sugar and cola. I would make it thicker if I make the glaze again.
03/30/2018
A wonderful ham - I've used cola earlier but not the other ingredients. Very tender, juicy and flavourful. I did add together a chip of heat to it but that was all. Do try it.
03/28/2016
This ham was splendid. The entire family unit loved information technology.
11/22/2018
The ham turned out and then good. Not besides salty either. We are going to totally enjoy eating it. I followed the directions except I used Coke and Pineapple juice to drip the ham.
01/05/2018
Used this recipe and my family loved it...definitely will practice once more
01/28/2018
I fabricated this and it was a major hit for my family! It was delicious!
12/xxx/2017
Wonderful recipe! I use this recipe every time I bake a ham. There was a time or 2 when I didn't accept coke or pineapple and I used root beer once and the final time I used cream soda and oranges and it'south always nifty again and once more. Thanks for a keeper of a recipe. Debbie
03/31/2018
I have fabricated this ham many times now and it is the juiciest ham. My friends and family beloved it!!!!
10/31/2020
I didn't have any grape juice, sounds weird anyways, so I used 1/2 cup rum. It was crawly!
04/twenty/2014
Made this for Easter and anybody emptied their plates! My hubby says its the best ham he has ever had!! A definite keeper in our family. Oh and I used wine instead of grape juice considering I didn't have whatsoever grape juice on hand and it turned out fabulous!!!
02/26/2016
I love ham but I always practice the same brown sugar, pineapple, and dearest glaze. I wanted to do something dissimilar. I tried to follow the recipe exact just somehow by the time I got to the grocery store I thought it was apple juice not grape juice. Still turned out great. Next fourth dimension I volition apply the grape juice though. Not sure how I mixed that upward. Thanks for the not bad recipe!
04/01/2016
I made this ham for Easter dinner and my family unit loved it! So easy to make and the flavor is terrific. Leftovers were even better!
04/24/2019
I made the ham for Easter and followed the recipe exactly. Information technology turned out dandy and my family devoured information technology!
04/17/2017
used 7-up instead of cola. did not utilise grape juice. Everything else, I did the same. Everyone love it.
04/06/2015
This recipe was easy and the ham turned out amazing! Will make this a staple recipe!
04/12/2015
Easy and yummy!
09/04/2019
This is my go to recipe for baked ham at present. I have made information technology this style in the oven per instructions and also in my crockpot and both accept been a success. I have also used grape jelly as referenced before when I did not have grape juice and information technology worked perfectly. This is a smashing mode to make a no hassle ham, and I use the recipe twelvemonth round for ham sandwiches.
04/17/2017
My family enjoyed this ham on Easter Sunday. I used a bone-in smoked ham. I omitted the grape juice and upped the soda. I ended upwards pouring soda straight on the ham because the drippings were too thick and burning. I put my pineapple rings on the lesser because I wanted them caramelized. The peel was sweet and crispy, the ham was moist and salty. Really proficient recipe.
04/06/2015
Oh my goodness...SO Delicious! I can't look to make this once again. I followed the recipe exactly.
